Resisting Apartheid
West Bank, Palestine

In 2008 I traveled to the West Bank to meet with groups utilizing creative methods to resist the Israeli Occupation and to witness the apartheid system that US tax dollars continue to fortify. Below is a glimpse of that experience with Combatants for Peace, Breaking the Silence and The Freedom Theatre.

Lower Ninth Ward After Katrina
New Orleans, Louisiana

In 2005 I volunteered with Common Ground Collective, one of the first groups to provide relief after Hurricane Katrina to those in the most devastated neighborhoods in and around New Orleans. These photos were taken in both the Lower Ninth Ward and Plaquemines parish.

This trip led me to organize Remaking New Orleans From Below, a free series of films, speakers, food and performances, bringing together Common Ground organizers and NOLA refugees in Austin during Cinematexas' Parallax View: The Political Economy of Images (2006).
